ØMay 22nd, 2002, Dr. Ingram moved to reject the superintendent’s recommendation for pay reduction for District employees.

Ø  June 6th, 2002, Dr. Ingram votes to authorize the restoration of an amount equal to the salaries and benefits that were reduced in 2001-2002, “That the School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent to restore an amount equal to the salaries and benefits that were reduced in fiscal year 2001-2002 in fiscal year 2003, such restoration of salaries and benefits would be prospective and not related to prior services; and, as soon after July 1, 2002 as possible, negotiate with affected bargaining agents to determine the manner and time of restoration. This action will require the Superintendent to develop a budget for 2002-2003, taking the amount of 12.8 million off the top and proceed with developing the budget for 2002-2003.”

Ø  July 24th, 2002, Dr. Ingram moved to amend the superintendent’s proposal in relation to paraprofessionals to provide that they be funded through the end of the first semester, with a decision to be made at that time concerning the continuation of the program during the remainder of fiscal year 2002-2003. A vote was taken on Dr. Ingram’s amendment. The motion carried unanimously.
