 Internet Guidelines

Content published via the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Web server (both the Internet and the Intranet) must comply with the following regulations:
  • All publications must comply with all policies and regulations of the district, state, federal and international laws concerning copyright, intellectual property and use of computers.

  • All content must be appropriate, decent, in good taste, and not intended to harass or demean individuals and/or groups.

  • Correct grammar and spelling should be used.

  • Publications must include a statement of copyright, when appropriate, and indicate that permission has been secured to include copyrighted materials.

  • Factual information must be documented.

  • All pages must include the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for users printing the page and present information in such a way that it is understandable to text-only users.

  • Publications must identify affiliation with Miami-Dade County Public Schools or have the M-DCPS logo on the title page.

  • All Web site home pages must have the school/department name, address, and telephone number.

  • All publications must provide a link to the dadeschools.net home page from the school/department homepage(www.dadeschools.net).

  • All publications must include date of creation and the date last updated.

  • All publications must include the e-mail address of the person maintaining the page.

  • Commercial use (advertisements, business logos, no add banners, etc.) is prohibited (A listing of school partners is permitted with logo)

  • Documents should be high quality and structured for clarity and readability.

  • Web sites that reside on ITS's server should not exceed 50 megbytes.

  • If a department is interested in using our templates to coordinate with the district Web site, the site must be approved by Internet Services at Information Technology Services.
  • If a student's photograph is used on the internet, a parental consent form must be signed. (Form - 5737)
