Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year and Frederick Douglass Elementary School’s web page – our link to you, our extended family. We look forward to an exciting year of academic excellence for our boys and girls. Our goal is to continue motivating and encouraging them to achieve and develop socially, emotionally and academically. Via this web site, I trust that as “WE” work together, we will begin net-working and sharing ideas and strategies that will enhance our own teaching and learning, ultimately extending into our classrooms and homes, and to our total student population.
During the year, emphasis will be placed on raising the academic bar for our students, giving them the necessary tools to be successful in reading, writing, math and science. We will continue to focus and work this year, as we did last year, on preparing our students for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests (FCAT), Stanford Achievement Test (SAT-9), and the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI).
Our entire staff is committed to the boys and girls at Frederick Douglass Elementary School. Our vision is to reach and teach each one of them. As you take a minute to get to know who we are, and what we’re about, keep in mind that all that we do is based on what’s best for children. We are proud of our hard work and dedication because we know that, children are our business, AND WE DO IT BEST!
