ANNOUNCEMENT The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida announces a public hearing on:
This public hearing is being held, pursuant to §1006.283, Florida Statutes, to address the instructional materials that are being considered for adoption for 2021-2022. A copy of the public hearing agenda will be available after 10:00 a.m., March 3, 2021. The agenda can be viewed by accessing the website www.dadeschools.net under Board Information. A copy of the agenda will also be available at Citizen Information Center, Room 102, 1450 N.E. Second Avenue. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK at the Public Hearing for Instructional Materials considered for adoption should submit a written request to the Superintendent of Schools, 1450 N.E. Second Avenue, Room 102, Miami, Florida 33132 or at via-email request4appearance@dadeschools.net, NO LATER THAN NOON, TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2021. A person wishing to appeal any decision made by The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, with respect to any matter considered at this meeting (hearing) should ensure the preparation of a verbatim record of the proceedings, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Under extraordinary circumstances, the Board may approve an individual Board member’s request to access, participate in, and to vote at this meeting utilizing communications media technology. The public may view or read the Closed Captioning of the Public Hearing which can be found by accessing http://www.dadeschools.net/schoolboard/index.asp and clicking on the Web Simulcast icon on the bottom right of the page. Any person may present live comments by attending the School Board Administration Building's Auditorium, 1450 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33132. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines each person will be required to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth (individuals are responsible for providing their own facial covering) and remain at least six (6) feet from other attendees upon arrival as they enter the School Board Administration Building and until his/her departure. Individuals who fail to adhere to these guidelines may be required to leave the premises.

Second Avenue, Room 102, Miami, Florida 33132 or at via-email request4appearance@dadeschools.net, NO LATER THAN 4:30 P.M., MONDAY, MARCH 15, 2021. A person wishing to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at this meeting (hearing) should ensure the preparation of a verbatim record of the proceedings, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. The public hearing shall begin no later than approximately 6:30 p.m. The Chair may begin calling speakers who are present immediately following the conclusion of the regular agenda. The public hearing shall not conclude before 4:30 p.m., unless all of the speakers signed up to speak are present and have been given the opportunity to speak. *The Board meeting will commence at 1:00 pm because the 11:00 am start time reserved for Board members’ presentation of recognitions, resolutions, endorsements, or proclamations has been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
