Committees

The School Board of Miami-Dade County conducts much of its business through the School Board Committees. Committee Meeting Announcements should be posted at least five (5) working days prior to the meeting. Each committee is shown with its constituent board members and deputy superintendent(s).

Although these are the regular times of the School Board Committee meetings, on occasion it may be necessary to reschedule these meetings. In order to ensure you have the correct time for a specific School Board Committee meeting, please refer to the District's Master Calendar for the specific date and time for each month's Committee meetings.

The starting times for these Committee meetings are purely an approximation and may begin upon conclusion of the immediately preceding meeting.  Citizens wishing to attend these meetings should appear well in advance of the subsequent Committees’ meetings in order to ensure attendance for the entire Committee meeting.

The following reflects the new Committee assignments which will become  effective   for  the December agenda cycle.

Fiscal Accountability & Government Relations (11:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m.)

This committee will review matters related to budget development, treasury management, procurement, audits, risk management, financial compliance, grants legislative issues, intergovernmental relations, compacts, and interlocal agreements.

Academics, Innovation. Evaluation, & Technology (12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

This committee will review matters related to curriculum, districtwide innovation, student evaluation, research, data analysis, technology, student progression, and instructional materials.

This committee will review matters related to personnel, succession management, professional development, labor relations,  athletics, nutrition,  field trips, graduations, attendance, Adult & Alternative Education,  school boundaries, school namings,  transportation,  charter  schools, business and community partnerships, parental involvement, and communications.

Facilities Construction (3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
